Traci is a Colorado native and a graduate of Georgetown University.  College studies and several years in the Foreign Service with the U.S. State Department gave her the opportunity to travel extensively, from South America to Europe and the Middle East.  After leaving the State Department she started a new career as an educator bringing her global perspective and foreign language skills to the classroom.  From the classroom she moved into school administration and spent more than 20 years at Colorado's largest public high school.  When it was time to consider what happens next, the natural thing to do was combine all of her professional experience and go international!  Traci is now the high school principal at the premier international school in Kuwait.

Tom is a Virginia native and a graduate of the University of Maryland.  Following several years working as an engineer, Tom also took a government job that allowed him to travel from Africa to Europe and South America.  It was during these travels that he met Traci and started a long distance romance that eventually brought both of them back to the U.S.  Having two different jobs involving extensive travel was going to be challenging so it was time to make a change.  In 1996, we moved to Colorado where Traci started her new career in education and Tom went to law school at the University of Denver.  One good thing that came out of the COVID pandemic was that we all learned about working remotely.  So, after almost 25 years practicing law, when Traci's job opportunity in Kuwait came up, it was a seamless transition for Tom to shift to working remotely with the occasional trip back to the U.S. for work.

Between them, Traci and Tom have been to more than 50 countries and, as they say, "The apple doesn't fall far from the tree."  We have two amazing children - Liam and Clare - who have quite a few stamps in their passports as well.  Between family trips and their own personal travels, they've already visited or lived in Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Canada, Iceland, Switzerland, France, England, Ireland, Scotland, Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Peru, Mexico, Germany, and Uganda.  Liam and Clare both completed their undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan.  Liam presently lives in London, England where he recently finished graduate studies at the Royal College of Music and is working as a composer.  Clare lives in Iowa City, Iowa where she is pursuing a graduate degree as a Physicians Assistant.  Any discussion of our family wouldn't be complete without a mention of our beloved Chesapeake Bay Retriever, Otter, who we had to say goodbye to last year after 14 years.  We miss you everyday.
